Present Position

Marika Guggisberg, PhD, is a Teaching and Research scholar at CQ University in Perth. She is known for her research on sexual victimisation of women and children and emerging forms of intimate partner violence such as the role of technology-facilitated abuse. She authored numerous books and articles and is a reviewer for a number of academic journals.

Description of the Book that can be Used in a Scholarly or Scientific Journal

This book examines issues around violence against women in relation to contemporary experiences, theories and interventions. It invites readers to critically reflect on the nature, impacts and complex responses to women’s experiences of interpersonal violence, inequality and racism. The book raises awareness of different forms of violence, which include sexual violence in intimate relationships and emerging types such as image-based abuse, sextortion, and online stalking.
